Switch Electric Home Energy

MonroeLocation

Switch Electric Home Energy has been serving the Monroe and greater Puget Sound area for 17 years, and their perfect 5.0-star Google rating from 668 reviews makes them one of the highest-rated solar companies in the Pacific Northwest. In a state where cloudy skies are the norm and homeowners often wonder whether solar makes sense, Switch Electric has spent nearly two decades proving that it does. What earned Switch Electric the top ranking in Washington was their flawless customer satisfaction across an impressive volume of projects. A perfect rating from more than 600 customers does not happen without deeply consistent quality in every phase of the process, from initial consultation through system monitoring after installation. The company is NABCEP certified and brings a strong electrical contracting foundation to their solar work. Their understanding of Washington's climate, where rain, overcast days, and moderate temperatures are standard conditions, informs their equipment selections and system sizing. They know how to set realistic production expectations for the Pacific Northwest and deliver accordingly. Switch Electric takes advantage of Washington's solar incentives, including the sales tax exemption and net metering, and helps homeowners understand their return on investment in a region where payback timelines are longer than in sunnier states but still achievable. With a composite score of 84.5, Switch Electric Home Energy is our top-ranked solar company in Washington for 2026.

Sunergy Systems

21*Years in Business
SeattleLocation

Sunergy Systems has been a Seattle-based solar installer for 21 years, making them one of the longest-operating dedicated solar companies in the Pacific Northwest. Their NABCEP certification and two decades of experience installing solar in Washington's famously overcast climate give them a depth of regional expertise that newer entrants to the market cannot replicate. Designing productive solar systems in the Pacific Northwest requires a fundamentally different approach than in sunbelt states, and Sunergy's track record demonstrates they have mastered the nuances of Northwest solar design. The company's 4.9-star Google rating from 239 reviews reflects consistent customer satisfaction across hundreds of installations in a market that demands careful system design to maximize returns. Customer feedback frequently highlights Sunergy's realistic production estimates, a critical factor in a region where overpromising solar output can lead to customer disappointment. Their willingness to set honest expectations rather than inflate projections to close sales is a quality that reviewers consistently appreciate. Sunergy Systems serves homeowners across the greater Seattle metropolitan area, including Bellevue, Tacoma, Everett, and surrounding communities. Their familiarity with Puget Sound Energy and Seattle City Light interconnection processes, as well as Washington state's renewable energy incentives, streamlines the permitting and activation timeline. Washington's net metering policies and state production incentives make solar economically viable despite lower annual irradiance than southern states, and Sunergy's ability to accurately model these financial returns helps homeowners make informed decisions. Their 21-year operating history spans the entire modern era of residential solar in Washington state, from the early days of expensive, low-efficiency panels through today's high-efficiency modules and battery storage integration. That institutional knowledge means their design team has seen how thousands of systems perform over time in Seattle's specific climate conditions, informing equipment recommendations and design practices that are grounded in real-world local data rather than manufacturer spec sheets alone. With a composite score of 81.97 out of 100, Sunergy Systems holds the second-ranked position in Washington for 2026.

Northwest Electric and Solar

15*Years in Business
KenmoreLocation

Northwest Electric and Solar has built one of the most heavily credentialed residential solar PV practices in Washington State, and the company has been recognized for it. Founded in 2011 by Master Electrician Derek White and headquartered at 18001 73rd Avenue NE in Kenmore, Washington, the company was the first in Washington and one of just ten nationally to earn NABCEP accreditation as a company, which is a step beyond having NABCEP-certified individual installers on staff. The company has been ranked Washington's number one Residential Solar and Storage Contractor in back-to-back years and was featured as a top solar contractor by Solar Power World magazine in 2025. What stood out to our research team is the breadth of the technical credentials stacked on top of one another. Northwest Electric and Solar is a Tesla Premier Certified Installer, the highest tier Tesla awards to its dealer partners and one Tesla revokes routinely from underperforming companies, and the team also installs Tesla Solar Roof, an integrated photovoltaic shingle product that requires a separate Tesla-specific certification path. The company carries a full Washington Electrical License (NORTHES876MA) and an industry-leading 25-year combined workmanship, replacement, and production warranty, which is meaningfully more generous than the 10-to-12-year workmanship windows that most competitors offer. The team draws on more than seventy years of collective electrical experience and over forty years of combined solar installation experience, and they install Qcell, REC, and Meyer Burger panels paired with SolarEdge and Enphase microinverter platforms. Prospective customers should know that Northwest Electric and Solar's review base on EnergySage is small in absolute terms, even though the ratings are very high, and the company's premium positioning means quotes tend to land at the higher end of the Washington market. The company is not in the EnergySage screened network. Buyers who want a long-warranty, NABCEP-accredited installer with deep Tesla credentials and are willing to pay for those credentials will find this an excellent option. With a composite score of 79.0 out of 100, Northwest Electric and Solar holds the third-ranked position in Washington for 2026.

*Companies displaying 15 or more years in business are typically established electrical, roofing, or general contracting firms that expanded into solar installation in more recent years. The years shown may reflect the age of the parent organization or a strategic partner, not necessarily the solar division itself. This distinction is worth considering when comparing to dedicated solar installers, as purpose-built solar companies may offer more specialized expertise despite a shorter operating history.
